Mount Pleasant is a hip, young, and family-oriented neighbourhood. It encompasses Main Street, which would be its most notable core street, up to East 16th to the south, Clark Street to the east, and the Strathcona area to the north (the False Creek Flats more specifically). It’s known for having a ‘modern hipster’ vibe, with a great restaurant and cafe scene, and various small shops. The neighbourhood off of Main Street is residential, with a high concentration of character homes (both new and old) which add a lot of charm to the area.
A new air-conditioned concrete building in Mount Pleasant! The ‘Independent’ is the first and only Main Street corridor high-rise, and the views are fantastic.
Interior features include a sleek kitchen with island, integrated Liebherr refrigerator and dishwasher, pantry, and Porter & Charles induction cooktop & wall oven. Italian two-tone cabinetry is soft-close and extends up to the ceiling. Under-cabinet lighting and quartzite countertops + backsplash round out the details of this modern design. The upscale bathroom gets fully tiled walls, floating vanity, and deep soaker tub. The bedroom has bonus built-in storage, and the den off the kitchen is convenient and functional.
Step out onto the functional and large patio that can accommodate seating for four, or even a dining table for summer dinner parties.
Southeast views from the suite and patio are are expansive and include Metrotown in the distance. It is highly unusual to have such views in Mount Pleasant/East Vancouver. Heating and cooling in the building are by way of a highly efficient geothermal system. Only a few buildings in the entire region utilize this technology. It’s a major bonus, and speaks to the quality of this building.
